Women's rights

Based on the 1979 United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), the IOPDHR maintains that all women throughout the world must be able to exercise their rights and be protected from discrimination.

OIPDDH believes that fostering gender inclusiveness in such crucial international dialogues not only preserves the principles of equality, but also strengthens the effectiveness and sustainability of peace efforts. By championing the meaningful participation of women, who bring diverse perspectives, innovative approaches and a deep interest in sustainable peace, the organisation envisions a world where women's voices are not only heard, but exert a significant influence on the trajectory of global peace processes.

In its multi-dimensional approach, IOPDHR uses a combination of educational initiatives, awareness-raising campaigns and collaborative partnerships with governments and civil society organisations to bring about change at both systemic and grassroots levels. The organisation recognises that achieving gender parity and equality requires constant effort, political reform and a united front against gender discrimination.

As a result, the International Observatory for Peace, Democracy and Human Rights is emerging as a beacon of hope and change in the quest for women's rights and gender equality. Rooted in the principles of CEDAW and driven by the urgent need to address ongoing violations, IOPDHR's commitment to empowering women and bringing them into international negotiations underscores its essential role in reshaping a world that values, respects and defends the rights of all people, regardless of gender.
